Carley's Garden

Steve made the most lovely walkway and deck in front of our house last summer. He blocked off an area in front of the walkway for a small flower garden. I was too sick and uncomfortable to get tulip bulbs planted last fall, so I was really looking forward to having my mom (Carley's Grammy) help with designing and planting this spring. After losing Carley, it only made sense that we would make this little flower bed for her. Please check back often so you can follow the progress of our work!

First, we filled the area with good old Iowa fill dirt (thanks Lloyd!)	Grammy and I added garden soil	15 bags of garden soil!
Then we mixed in some sand	She said it would help with drainage	And then we planned the design...
We planted herbs, mums, violas, columbine...	... lupine, hollyhocks, chamomile, and lavender	I'm not sure the garden is big enough for everything!
