Thank you...
James Downard, MD - Your excellent care during my
pregnancy and compassion during my loss was unparalleled. I thank you for
your expertise and true concern for us.
Timothy Leeds, MD - In a short time, you have made such an impact on my
life. I appreciate how you treated me like you would one of your own
patients... or friends. Thank you for treating my daughter with the same
respect and gentleness that you would a live child. Thank you for ensuring
that Carley entered this world with dignity.
Jeffrey Drawbond, MD - Without you, I know Carley's
delivery would have been so much more painful. Thank you for taking away
the only pain that could be removed...
Glenda, Sarah, Shawna, Julie, & Joline and MGMC Birthways
Staff- My sister-in-law told me just recently how, when she was a medical
student, she would get so exasperated with the OB nurses because they were so
protective of their patients. She told me that she now sees exactly why OB
nurses are this way. How can I ever repay you for the wonderful care you
gave me? Thank you for being sensitive to my needs, for comforting my
husband, our patents, and our friends. Thank you for being so good at what
you do, and for showing us that we are not alone in our sorrow.
Jeri Ann, Darla, and the staff at McFarland OB - Thank
you for caring for me during my pregnancy - not just medically, but
emotionally. Thank you for being concerned about me, for taking my
concerns seriously and easing my fears, for commiserating with me when I
complained about my aches and pains, laughing with me when I shared my latest
"funny story". Thank you for truly being interested in the
progress of Carley's growth.
Jan Murdock - It gave me such joy to get to see Carley
tumbling and squirming inside me. Thank you for taking the time to give me
pictures of my happy, active girl. You gave me my only actual pictures of
her life. Your sonographs are my cherished prizes, and your friendship a
true gift.
Dee Matthews - It took my mother several weeks to get
the courage to ask how I got from the clinic to the hospital. Her fears
that I was alone consumed her. Thank you for being my temporary mom... for
staying with me and comforting me in the early hours of my loss. Thank
you for your friendship, and for always remembering to ask about Carley.
You are a wonderful friend, and an excellent mother.
And...
Pastor Wendy Miles - for more or less everything
under the sun
Note: In Carley's
Story, you will read very little about Wendy. This story was an account of
the three days at MGMC from my perspective, and although she ministered to me
several times during those days, she spent much of her time doing things I never
saw.
She was the one who had the burden of calling Steve's family.
She was the one who ushered people in and out of the room so I could get some
rest. She was a hostess, referee, telephone answering service, sounding
board, nanny, mother, shepherd, friend.
Without her gentle guidance and
seemingly endless energy, we would not have made it through such a dark
time. There just aren't words to describe what she did for us... well,
except one... love.
